Lonely people are more likely to binge watch TV, study says
HEY EVERYONE, WE’RE lonely and depressed! At least, that’s according to a new study, which says people who binge-watch telly are probably down in the dumps.
Researchers at the University of Texas studied more than 300 18 to 29-year-olds and found that binge-watchers are most likely lonely, depressed, and lacking the “ability to control themselves”.

A preview of the study, which is due to be presented next May, says that many people use binge-watching as a means of getting rid of “negative feelings” and that they were “unable to stop clicking ‘next’, even when they were aware that they had other tasks to complete”.
And to think up until now, we blamed good television for binge-watching.

The researchers also found that marathoning TV shows also lead to problems like obesity and physical fatigue:
